Day 14 and 15

The kids have been doing a lot of role play activities such as doctors, nurses, police officers, fire fighters and they all seem to hold a similar theme. They’re all essential workers, huh, funny that. They absolutely love going into character and acting out a scene. Next up is my childhood fave, shops. Every time mum and dad did groceries, I’d always put all the food on the table, and put each item through my imaginary checkout 1 by 1 before mum and dad could put the food away hahahaha. And now I’ll be showing the kids my weird childhood fave haha. Oh good times. I also bought the kids activity books from the supermarket. The both love the various activities they can do in those books.

Mahi has started to become a little busy. Lots of marketing and content I have to produce which is really exciting for me as a therapist. Watch this space people. I’m so looking forward to going back to work in clinic.

I swear food is life right now 😂😂 like all we think about in this house now is food and trying to come up with yum as meals for lunch and dinner. I feel that this blog will soon become a food blog for ya lol.

Day 14 I made the fluffiest fry bread ever. My first good go at making those and it was a success. I made a creamy seafood chowder to go with it and it was an absolute hit fro, everyone, whooo!. Day 15 it was platter night. A series of assorted platters from “kids platter” with ya usual chicken nuggets, chips and American hot dogs, a “club sandwich platter” and an “assorted platter with homemade aioli, caramelised onions, baked salmon, dips, cheeses, crackers, salami. Absolute fave platter of all time. I pretty much made enough for tomorrow’s lunch and possibly dinner too haha.

Catch ya for Day 16 and 17.

Day 12 and 13

I thought I’d start writing blogs every 2 or 3 days now cause let’s be honest, this girl has no brain and forgets all the time.

Day 12 Today was all about baking and creating with the food we have. Mum the baking extraordinaire, made heaps of comfort food. My damn weakness lol. She made feijoa chutney, feijoa crumble, weetbix slice, choc chip banana muffins. Come at me weight gain lol. Me and the Kids went for a walk around the track and grabbed some feijoa on our way. Me and dad did another body combat and boxing session. I’ve learnt to deal with him during these times haha. The kids have been doing really well. They love drawing and playing outside. Simple but keeps the, occupied.

Day 13 Today was pretty busy for me. I had back to back meetings with work and are absolutely relishing the experience, working with such a top class team. Lots of ideas and brainstorming was had and I’m so excited to put these ideas into action. I have lots of work to do in the next 2 weeks or so, exciting times. How’s your 2nd week going so far? Hope everyone is well and smashing their goals.

Getting my cook on

Today was all about cooking for me and yes I forgot to take photos of my masterpieces cause I was too slow to get to them before everyone ate it 😂 naah.

Lunch: I made some gourmet pizzas from scratch. The longest part was waiting for the damn pizza dough to rise, but it was all worth it. Pizza 1 was seafood, Pizza 2 was chicken and bacon. These were served with salad and it was more of a early dinner than anything. So a light dinner of soup was had in the evening. I’m going to boast and I’m going to rate my damn pizza making haha. Base was nice and soft, didn’t taste yeast like your normal home made doughs. I’m going to use that dough method and make fry bread next time with seafood chowder, yum.

Dessert: I made a dessert to go with our early dinner. A Black Forest gateau with whipped cream and choc drizzle. Wholey shit, I also rate that too hahaha.

Overall Sunday was pretty chilled. See you all for day 12, a new week with new goals.

Day 9 and 10

Hey team, how’s everyone on day 9 and 10?

Day 9: Today Is Friday, but how can you be excited for Friday now that everyday is a holiday? Haha. Today was chill day, and lots of quality time with the kids. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I am super grateful to be having this time off, as I’ve been longing for quality time with my babies. I’m loving every minute of it. Today we did a BodyCombat express class. I personally prefer 30min high intensity classes from time to time. Tonight I got to have a catch up with my old school mates. It was so bloody good to see there beauty faces. I was pretty much in fits of laughter the whole damn time. I haven’t laughed so hard in so long lol. I also got to catch up with all my cousins and uncle. Again, I haven’t seen my cuzzys beautiful faces in a loooong time and it was so good to see them. Definitely need to do this again soon. I love how in these times, we all find a way to connect with one another.

Day 10: Had a sleep in this morning until my babies came in wanting cuddles. I live for those moments, little darlings. We got the kids outside today to get some fresh air into their little bodies. I helped dad put the tent up to give something for the kids to play in which was a great idea. If you know my dad, you must be on the ball at all times when helping him out haha haha, this is said in the nicest way possible lol. Once dad is in the zone, anything you do wrong, you’re gonna hear about it lol. So this was a gamble for me and my seedy head lol. Anyways, after a few stupid questions and brain farts from myself, we managed to get the tent up without having an all out brawl on our backyard lawn haha. Kids absolutely loved it and it gives them something to do for the next few days. BBQ was on the menu for dinner tonight and so was despicable me for the kids. Such a cruisey but enjoyable day today.

Hope you all have had a great weekend so far, see you soon for day 11

Day 8

Well today went pretty bloody quick. So quick, that I can remember what the hell i did lol.

The only major thing I did was do a grocery shop for mum and dad lol. The line at New world wasn’t that major so they must have a good system in place so it’s more flowing. I had an elderly woman behind me, and I insisted that she went in front of me as I didn’t mind waiting because after all, this shop was a wee break for me haha. She didn’t want a bar of it but instead wanted to have a chat to me about her mokos and kids, bless her. Inside the store, it wasn’t as chaotic as recent times. But it seemed as if everyone knew the social distancing rules etc. I do like to point out 2 people, however, who weren’t wearing any PPE at all, walking closely to everyone, not giving a shit about what anyone. It’s these people that need a massive uppercut and right hook to the face, said with love lol.

The kids had a pretty cruisey day. Lots of drawing and games were had today. The kids seem to realise that they won’t be going to daycare or school anytime soon, and they’re ok with that. And I don’t mind one bit having them to myself for a while before life gets hectic again. There’s so much to be grateful for today. I’ve longed to have quality time with my babies, and god definitely listened. Everyone, take this time to spend quality time with those you love. The world is giving you all a well deserved break, so take it, and stop moaning that you can’t have KFC or Maccas lol.

1st week in lockdown

So day 7 I felt a little bit more motivated lol. I got the things I needed to do, done. Today also marked 1 week of lockdown. We have a loooong way to go. Today I also realised that we will be celebrating Netanis birthday, our wedding anniversary, and our nieces and nephews birthdays all during lockdown.

Kids activities: Aznie did some creative writing today. She amazes me every day that kid. So bloody clever (just like her mum haha). I love watching her grow and develop. We also did some colouring in later on. She is so creative. I love this kid.

While Aznie was writing, Netani was at work on his digger, picking up cars. Was a pretty big job lol. love this kid.

Body movement: I got the kids outdoors and we went on a little adventure around the walking track near by. A couple of hills and a few sets of stairs. I was so proud of these 2. Aznie is a natural runner and wanted to give us a race. I of course had to wait for Netani and his little legs to catch up lol.

After we came back from our walk. I did my own extras. The 300 club. Short but gets ya ticker going. Thanks to Aimie for this.

Also side note, Who watches MAFS? can anyone tell me the outcome? Lol. See you later for day 8

Day Six

I got the kids outside for a bit this morning, just to get some fresh air into their little bodies. While they were playing, mama got to practice her shooting and he was probably the only movement I did for the day as my body needed a break lol. The kids grabbed planks of wood and made a few ramps for netanis cars to go down. It’s amazing how much fun these kids can have with a toy car and planks of wood. After that they Aznie wanted to play tag. Netani had no clue what was going on and he was just following his sister around haha.

We had some face masks made for us. We have some pretty amazing people surrounding us who not only think of themselves but also me and the kids. Now the kids can be a little more safe during this lockdown.

See you later for Day 7….

Day 5

Today went pretty quick. Today also was also the start of a bit of routine. Today was technically my first day with my new job. I get to meet all my work colleagues via video tomorrow which is a bit different, but hey what can ya do.

Movement: Aznie and Netani did the first Les Mills “Born to move” class for the week. After a few minutes into the class, they finally got in to it and enjoyed it a lot. Me and Aznie went for a walk and sat and looked out to the beautiful view of the water from the top of our walking track. It was so nice to get outside and have a bit of quality time with my girl. Instead of body balance today, I opted for another body combat workout, and this time I did it with dad. Combat 83 seems to be dads go to at the moment, and it was a damn killer. 1 hour class was finished of with a loop around the walking track and sprint up the hill, what the hell was I thinking lol.

Kids activities: lots of drawing, playing with trucks, dolls, cards etc was done today. Will be introducing another activity for them tomorrow to change it up a bit. The born to move class must have drawn all the energy from Netani cause he was in bed really early tonight, hallelujah lol.

Pit of the day: Netani did a massive poo in his pants…you know, one of those explosive ones? As mum said “it must have taken a load of his mind” hahaha. It was the change your clothes and wash your hands 100 times type of situation lol.

Peak of the day: I’m grateful to have started a new job. I’m also grateful that my babies are healthy and I’m spending this much needed time with them before life gets hectic again.

How is everyone on day 5? See you tomorrow for day number ono.

Day 4 shenanigans

Well well.. Day 4 was a bloody pearler to say the least lol.

1st grocery shop in lockdown: this was so freakin weird. We had to wait in a line 2m apart as we walked in to new world and it was pretty much a 1 in 1 out system. Lots of peeps with masks on and looking scared as anything. My success for the day was being able to get some damn bread and hand wash. Still no hand sanitizer present though. OMFG I need to share this with you…..so I was walking down the freezer aisle looking for some yoghurt…..minding my own damn business… and this old man walks past, stops right in front of me, and does the biggest loudest fart and just walks off. Like I’m not sure about you guys, but I wait until no one is around before I let rip, not the other frickin way around. And from that moment, I regretted not wearing a mask. Who does he think he is. Like yeah, Coronavirus is way more important but have you breathed in a killer fart? …. yeah exactly lol.

Kids activities: Another self directed play day today. Tunnels and tents seem to be the kids go to at the moment. Aznie also made a banana cake which I was gutted not to try cause everyone got in before me lol. Me and Aznie will be making chocolate eclairs next …yum.

Body movement: I did a BodyCombat class this arvo. This class always gives me that sweat up that I need. Tomorrow I’ll be giving body balance a go. Tune in to tv1 at 9am every day for some Les Mills fun.

R.I.P gone but never forgotten: so my phone took its last breath today, surrounded by myself, it’s loved one lol. Such perfect timing having my phone put out during lock down. But hey you gotta take the positives out of this and maybe it was a blessing lol. So I’m out of action until lock down is over unless someone has a decent phone I can buy then haere mai.

Check in tonight for day 5

Day 3

Day 3 into our lockdown and it seems like theres a bloody long way to go. How is everyone coping?

Rugby Tots: This morning, Netani had his Rugby class via live stream with his coach. What an awesome way to reach out and get the kids excited for a session from home. The class took around 20-30mins, full of all skills they have learnt in previous sessions and utilizing things around the home. I think Netani was more occupied with the pool table than getting into his session. But he was all for the cheers at the end. He even got a shout out by his coach which was pretty special. After Rugby Tots, it was chill time, breaky and watching McDonalds Happy Meal Minions on YouTube lol.

Body Movement: Today, I listened to my body, but still challenged it a little, doing the Les Mills Barre workout. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT underestimate this. Although it’s a slower paced workout, you definitely feel the burn and its bloody beautiful. I must add that this workout is ballet inspired, but men, do not turn your cheek on this one. If a 6ft ex rugby player can do this (my dad) then you can too. Here is the link to a Les Mills Barre workout: https://youtu.be/iiNxNXMuf7o

Self care: along with body movement and yoga, I sat down and wrote what my goals were for my next chapter in my career. This gained a lot of clarity. I am so excited to put these goals into action and to see where this next journey will take me.

Activities with the kids: Majority of day 3 was self directed play. All I needed to do was take out a few things for the kids to play with (cards, tunnels, tents etc) and let them do their own thing. Tonight Aznie requested that we have a bbq picnic in the lounge and also make a big hut in the lounge using sheets and blankets. This will be mine and the kids sleeping area for the night. The Minions movie is on tv as well so the kids will be having a mini movie night in their hut with popcorn and snacks.

Mini BBQ picnic in the lounge

Today I am grateful for the quality time I am able to spend with my babies during this lockdown.

Tomorrow I will be doing a grocery shop (lord help me) and will spend some quality time with Aznie doing some yummy baking. That’s a wrap for day 3 team. Catch ya tomorrow for day 4….
